GURUKKALS AYURVEDA HOSPITAL & KALARI-MARMA CHIKILSALAYAM

Gurukkals Ayurveda Kalari Marma Chikitsalayam is running for past 28 years. K V Muhammed gurukkal the propounder of gurukkals, started practicing and studying Kalari under Kadathanad Chandran Gurukkal since the age of fifteen.India’s traditional martial arts and cultural practices are still remaining in different parts of the world. The ayodhana kala, Kalaripayattu, is more prevalent among these traditional martial arts and cultural practices. The people who aspire to the martial art, kalaripayattu, are trying their level best to keep the abundant resources as well as practices within themselves and try to inculcate the same with others who are interested in promoting this ancient martial art practice and honor the culture. Even after trying their level best to promote this culture it is noticed that the practitioners fail to bring in enough funds for the same and this lack has affected the Kalari in a tremendous manner that has led to neglect of the art. This situation is despairing and unfortunate when looked into ancient history.

The items such as kalari weapons, thaliyola, books, kalari costume, poojadravyangal, abharanangal, angachamayangal, poothara, guruthara, etc. must be displayed at the museum using sculptures and visuals. It must also comprise models and visuals of all the martial arts across the world.

Yoga maintains that chakras are center points of energy, thoughts, feelings, and the physical body. According to yogic teachers, chakras determine how people experience reality through emotional reactions, desires or aversions, levels of confidence or fear, and even physical symptoms and effects. When energy becomes blocked in a chakra, it triggers physical, mental, or emotional imbalances that manifest in symptoms such as anxiety, lethargy, or poor digestion.Asanas are the many physical poses in Hatha yoga. People who practice yoga use asanas to free energy and stimulate an imbalanced chakra.

Medicines to be administered on patients are prepared as per yogas, recipes at the medical centre itself. Which are mentioned in thaliyolas (palm leaf scripts). All preparations at the hospital are made in conventional methods without any modern machineries to ensure 100% result and satisfaction.

Most of the plants used for preparation are cultivated in our herbal garden. Verdant collections of herbs adds more beauty to the institute.

KALARIPAYATTU

Kalaripayattu is the martial art form of Kerala. Kalaripayattu’s influence can be seen in most of the art forms of Kerala. In the past kalaris (combat arena or battle field) formed an integral part of the lives of the people. Without any gender discrimination boys and girls in their childhood would be sent to the Kalaris for practicing.
